Saturday morning I woke up with a feeling somewhere between excited and nervous.
I knew we were going to start this tournament as one of the outsiders. Mainly because we are all relatively young characters but also because we are in fact 90% off our time playing the solo game in small frigates.
So we lacked the genuine small fleet experience that alot of other contenders where known for.
Especially the guys we were facing on our first match.
45 minutes before our match started our team captain was prompted with the ban box.
We got hit directly in the face because they banned out what we had prepared for our first match.
So we got to shuffle a bit in our other setups this because Bogdan, one of our more high SP characters, was in a car crash and was not released from the hospital yet.
So we went with a comp we weren’t comfortable with and with 2 points short because we couldn’t fill it up with the pilots we had.
We got moved a few minutes before the start of our match and as we warped to the arena our opponents appeared on d-scan. Revealing what looked like an ideal counter to our setup.
We went in the match giving our best but made a few mistakes and were overclassed by our opponents stong setup and piloting resulting in a flawless victory for them. Well done Gerodian.
After the match ended we stayed on teamspeak figuring out what we would do the next day.
We were not certain yet that bogdan would make it for the 2nd match so we came up with a totally new fleetcomp entirely with pirate ships. If we would go out we would go out in style.
Normally I would have flown the Immolater, this is a special edition pirate rookie ship. When we were about to get moved we hear they were not allowed.
So I had to scramble to get another 2 point ship ready. It was a merlin that apparently had armor damage from before. But I couldn’t see it because I had not undocked yet.
It was kind of a moral drop that we were not a complete pirate ship fleet but in fact the merlin was a tad better then the rookie ship.
We allready had received our bans. This time we could go on with our setup. So all was good.
They banned first and banned a ship that we would have banned aswell so we were able to ban a extra ship.
We were highly encouraging eachother and trying to keep the conversations as light as possible to relieve some of the stess.
We got moved 5 minutes prior to our game and had to wait a bit longer on the arena before our match started.
This gave us some time to work on our gameplan. We made a list of our primaries so everyone knew beforehand what was the next to go down.
All went smooth their 2 logi frigs got tackled almost instant and went down really fast.
We went for the sacrilege before the prophecy and that was a good call because the prophecy was a bait ship that was hugely overtanked.
Dolan and fozzie were kind of mocking the last armageddon of our opponents for not using drones and/or picking some up but I can guarantee you that he had his sentries on our machariel and on the cynabal.
Everyone did their job very well and this resulted in a win.
Right now we’re working on our next match. Lest’s hope it goes as good as our last
The schedule for the first round of the New Eden Open II is out.
We will be performing our first match on Saturday March 1st at 18:20 EVE Time.
Gerodian vs Stay Frosty.
I’m really looking forward to this match and hope we can perform well.
Looking at the Gerodian killboard it looks like a solid corp that fly a meriad of ships.
It’s hard to tell what there expertise is.
Depending on the outcome of the match we will be performing Sunday March 2nd in the winners or the losers bracket. If we win we go at 16:20 EVE Time. If we lose we go at 19:00 EVE Time.

Every year in Reykjavik there is a big meetup for all EVE players around the world.
It’s a place were capsuleers swap tales of bravery, comradery, and victorious moments in their digital universe.
If you decide to ever go there. Be prepared to have a very good time.
I went there last year with the misses and we immediatly decided to go back this year.
So our plane tickets, fanfest tickets and rooms are booked.
There is one guy in particular that we met there that we spent alot of time with.
He had his girlfriend with him aswell.
My girlfriend and his girlfriend came along just fine.
So he was my guy to swap those stories with.
Gues what happend not long ago.
Yup, I shot him in the face.
How good does it feel to shoot a guy you know in the face and don’t even care one bit…?
Welcome to EVE Online.
Funny thing in the movie. There is a guy that comes in an atron. Aggro’s both of us and warps off.
There were alot of killmail whores in the FFA.
Right now the focus is on the NEOII that starts this weekend.
The results for the Stay Frosty FFA or out.
You can find them at the EVEOGANDA website here
Top killers is very much deserved for Julia Ayu.
I’m featured fifth in the category Top Kills + Assists.
That just counts me out of any prices. But hey, I’m glad to be up there that high!
Keep an eye out on the forums for another Stay Frosty FFA.
This image speaks a thousand words.
The FFA was a huge succes.
It started with a huge number in system to start with and increased even further while the event went on.
Stay frosty did an excellent job in providing everyone with ships and fittings. I helped delivering ships to players, and I can say it was busy but fun.
It turned out my breacher wasn’t all that good. So I decided to roll with the merlin that Stay Frosty provided to the players.
There were a few boosted gangs and pod-killers active but it was limited to only a select few.
I managed to appear on 115 killmails with 35 final blows according to eve-kill.
I have 20 lossmails. 2 of them being pod-kills.
The efficiency was 88%.
I can’t be more happy with this result.
Engaged in a 1 vs 1 with a guy I met at Fanfest last year.
Vid of the engagement
For everyone involved, keep an eye out on Eveoganda anytime soon for the awarded prices.
Edit: Here you can find the official killboard from the event. I think it’s still catching up with the API tho.
Currently I’m ranked 23th in the top killers list \o/
Today at 1600 eve-time will start the Stay Frosty FFA!
I decided to fit up some ships and went for the breacher.
Hope I’ll have enough of them
